Ahmed Hamdaoui, born on March 25, 1955 in Jérada (Oujda Province, Morocco). After the Baccalaureate obtained in Khouribga in 1974, he pursued his university studies in France: Licence and Maitrise in Biochemistry at the University of Rouen and the University of Paris VII, in 1986 Doctorat d'Etat ès-Sciences in Biochemistry at the University of Strasbourg. In September 1986 hired as a teacher-researcher at the Faculty of Sciences Semlalia of the Cadi Ayyad University of Marrakech. In 1990 he obtained the rank of Professor of Higher Education. Within the framework of a research project financed by the EEC in 1994, discovery of a new family of protease inhibitors in the ovaries of adult female locusts (schistocerca gregaria). Work done in close collaboration with the laboratory of Professor Arnold De Loof at the Catholic University of Leuven (Flanders, Belgium). Author of several publications and director of PhD theses on the subject. Postdoctoral stay in the laboratory of Professor Dov Borovsky, University of Gainesville, Florida, USA. Retired since September 2020 and after 20 years of breeding crickets, he is the author of more than ten publications and patents on the subject. Today, Ahmed Hamdaoui has a business creation project on the use of a mass rearing of locusts for the production of food flours. The processes he is developing ensure a larger scale production while minimizing costs.
